emma. ♥ enjoy the tip on becoming a better cheerleader! i'm a cheerleader at my middle school, and my coach says im the best on the team! woot ! (:
here's some tips on how to become a better cheerleader. whether you aren't one, or if you are one and think you can improve.
----------
&+How To Become A Better Cheerleader( :
♥-Get fit.
Run at least twice a week for about 60 minutes. Do other things like push-ups, crunches, and planks. Also improve your flexibility. Having flexible shoulders, arms, and back will help you a lot with your tumbling. Exercises that can help improve flexibility are snake/seal stretches, bridges, splits, rocking bridges, backbend kickovers, front walkovers, straddle, pancake, and others.
♥-Take private lessons.
Private lessons will help you work on a skill you need to improve on or really need to learn, like a back handspring or tuck.
♥-Buy equipment and practice at home.
Mats, handspring machines, octagons, and rebound machines can really help.
♥-When you're sitting down watching TV or in the computer, be in the position of a jump.
It will really help you.
♥-Improve your flexibility.
Try to search on Youtube about improving your flexibility, watch some girls that do some really good stunts and practices to improve their flexibility :)
♥-When jumping, keep tight. Whip your legs and arms as fast and hard as possible, squeeze your muscles, and keep your head straight forwards.
♥-Smile.
When cheering, you must always smile and have a positive attitude. This can help if you're trying out.
♥-Practice!
Train as much as you can. Don't immediately think "That's it. I give up on trying a split!." No. Practice makes perfect. Keep stretching and you'll get to whatever point you want to get.
♥-Eat healthy.
You need to stay fit and eat a healthy breakfast everyday. Here are some ideas: granola bars, a glass of milk, a banana, etc.
♥-Remember that falling is part of learning.
You will always fall. Be prepared to fall. If you fall forwards, tuck your chin in and roll. If you fall backwards, extend your arms above your head and do a backwards roll or safety roll.
♥-Believe in yourself.
Like i stated before, don't just give up immediately. Keep practicing! Practice makes perfect.
♥-Keep your uniform in good condition and always look presentable.
Don't try to hard on impressing with your make-up, I'd put on one of the eye shadows from the Naked palette, a light blush, mascara, eye liner, and lip balm. Finish the look off with a beautiful smile :)
♥-Have Fun!
And remember, Cheer-leading is dangerous. Never try anything too hard and never be afraid to ask for a spotter if you need help. If you can't do a skill, don't pressure yourself to do it. You'll learn it someday!
